Job action looms at BC universities

VANCOUVER—Four more CUPE university locals have served 72-hour strike notice. Once in place, CUPE members at five universities in BC will be in a legal position to strike. Canadian Union of Public Employees locals at Simon Fraser University, the University of Northern BC, Thompson Rivers University and the University of British Columbia served notice today at the BC Labour Relations Board. SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY—CUPE’s 1,020 support workers at SFU have had enough.
